The Three Acts of the Mind and their relationship With International Business Major

The three acts of the mind are drawn from logic which is the art of reasoning. Logic guides the operations of the mind towards achieving a targeted truth. Of the three acts, simple apprehension is the act by which the mind conceptualises an idea without making any judgements. Simple apprehension lays foundation for judgement, the second act of the mind, which is the act by which the mind agrees to or denies an attribute of an idea. The third act of the mind, reasoning, draws a conclusion from two given judgements. This paper examines the three acts of the mind and how they are related to majoring in international business.

While choosing a major in International Business, simple apprehension will aid in studying the available choices. First, there are certain requirements that are needed for each given major. For instance, one needs to have completed some specific units in their course in order to get enrolled in a given major. Secondly, it is important to have knowledge of the time requirement of each course. There is the need to study the time taken to complete each of the different majoring choices provided; some of the courses will take a longer duration than others. One also needs to consider the marketability and employability of each of the choices in the picture. This entails the different career opportunities on completion of each major. It also involves considering how the major will allow for advancement in International Business career. Another factor that needs to be considered is how personal interests like travelling or adapting to different cultural practices relate with the choice of course.

Judgement will enable one to gauge the possibility of pursuing a given major having studied each one of them intensively. Through judgement it is possible to consider the consequences of pursuing certain choice and any alternatives that are available for that given choice.
